A rarely exhibited, extensive collection of G.I. Joes will be on display at the CNY Veterans Parade and Expo. Saratoga resident Tearle Ashby’s collection of more than 3,000 G.I. Joes includes mint-in-the-box and opened figurines set up in realistic settings and poses. It also includes rare and vintage 1960s and 1970s G.I. Joe figures and accessories. While most pieces recall WWII, including an exhibit of the famous flag-raising on Iwo Jima and a miniature Gen. George Patton, it will also include some more recent figures, such as those based on the 1998 film “Saving Private Ryan”.
