Upon a violation of any of these rules, entrants may be subject to immediate expulsion from the parade.


  • Entrants must follow instructions of Police and Parade Officials.


  • No alcoholic beverages allowed in staging area, during parade or at the end of the parade.


  • No throwing of candy or other objects by marchers.


  • No articles or persons are to be hanging over the sides of the floats or out windows from enclosed vehicles.


  • All entries are by invitation only and must be approved by the Parade committee. Entrants may display a wide-variety of designs – in good taste. The depiction of any political, controversial or indiscreet message is prohibited. The Parade is a tribute to our Veterans and is to remain its focal point. Decision of the Parade Committee is final.


  • Entrants must maintain a forward motion. Performing is permitted during long pauses. There is no stopping unless directed by Parade Officials or Police. If you are stopped, entertain the spectators until you start again.


  • CNYVDP Committee’s decision on placement is final.


  • Equestrian units and all entrants with animals must have their own cleanup unit. Riders must be 14 years of age and above.


  • No sirens in the line of the marchers. This is a safety precaution in case of emergencies.


  • Floats or other modes of transportation must be approved by the CNYVDP Committee.


  • No smoking on or near floats.
